Bowling
Night
Adventure Center
Portal La Dehesa
By: Deborah Jaedecke
Thirty six members of the Canadian and American
Associations of Chile enjoyed a bowling night at Adventure
Center located in Portal La Dehesa. We started off with
selecting bowling shoes in our sizes, Betty only used one
shoe, and then made our choices of colorful bowling balls,
lighter weights were pink for the ladies and heavier
weights were blue for the men. We had groups of four or
five people playing in each lane.
As soon as we started bowling, the drinks and snacks
started arriving and the bowling commenced. We had some
experienced bowlers that maintained their high scores and
some beginner bowlers that were really happy to avoid the
gutters. There were some bowlers that jumped up and down
when they made a strike and everyone cheered them on. There
were others that rolled the ball so slowly down the lane
that we weren’t quite sure whether or not the ball
would make it to the pins and it turned into a strike. Of
course, we cheered them on as well.
Then there was “One Shoe Betty”…she
impressed us all with her humor, picture taking, and
ability to bowl. Why did she use only one shoe?? Well, you
will have to ask her that question, but we certainly hope
that she brings her camera when she comes back next year so
that you can enjoy the great pictures included in this
newsletter article.
